- Ice Level Control Board
- This board uses an infrared beam to sense the level of the ice in the ice bucket and signal the ice maker to make more ice.
- If the ice level control board fails, the ice maker will stop making ice.
- Two ways to test if your board is bad include:
- 1.) Open the freezer door and make sure the ice maker control is in the on position. The LED status light should blink twice and then pause and then repeat.
With the freezer door open hold down the flapper door on the left side to unblock the optics beam. The LED status light should light up and stay on with no blinks. If the LED
status light continues to blink twice then you have a faulty optics control board
- 2.) If there is no LED status light, the ice maker could be in harvest mode. Hold down the freezer light switch, the LED status light should flash every second while in harvest mode. If the LED status light does not light up then you have a faulty optics control board.
- Both Boards need to be replaced at the same time.
